High voltage wire winding machines

Our wire winding machines are designed to wind High Voltage transformer coils ranging from approx 10 kVA to 40 MVA.

This type of winding machine is highly customizable and over the years LAE developed hundreds of solutions: winding up to 1600 mm in height, with one or more round wires or rectangular strips, with progressive or full insulation, with or without paper trimming, and much more.

The machines can also be equipped with two- or four-way, single or double, wire flattening systems so to fully exploit the advantages of progressive insulation.

WIRE FLATTENER LAE SFx

To maximize the advantages of progressive insulation, flattening the circular wire gives a significant improvement in the filling factor and the arrangement of the coils in layers. This means more compact coils and cheaper transformers.

For any need related to the number of wires, the diameter and type of flattening, LAE has a solution that has already been tested and proven on the market.

PROGRESSIVE INSULATION

To decrease the amount of insulating material inside the coil and so reduce its final size, it is possible to build the interlayer insulation in a progressive way, using one or two strips.

The strip tension is electronically controlled to wind at high speed, even with very thin insulating material either on round or oval or rectangular coils. For maximum flexibility, the machine can be equipped with two strip dereelers.

For years, our customers have been reducing their costs by using the advanced LAE construction system for progressive insulation and tape tensioning.

LAE WIRE TENSION CONTROL SYSTEM (LAE-WTCS)

The compactness and, therefore, quality of the coil depend closely on the control of the conductor tension (wire or strip) during winding, especially for the production of oval or rectangular coils.

The LAE-WTCS tensioning system, the result of long-standing experience in this sector, avoids any compromise between quality and speed, so reducing the tolerances on the finished product.
